The Visionaries of the Year campaign is a nationwide philanthropic competition that empowers community leaders to drive significant fundraising efforts in their local areas. This year in Augusta, the campaign engaged numerous individuals and teams who dedicated their time and energy to this vital cause. The experience was deeply rewarding for all involved, fostering an inspiring outpouring of generosity from countless individuals across the community.
The extensive efforts of the Visionaries culminated in a celebratory Grand Finale on May 16th, an event that not only recognized their achievements but also featured a silent auction of items generously procured to further boost fundraising totals. The collective impact of the Augusta Visionaries was truly impressive, raising over $300,000. These substantial funds are directly channeled to advance LLS’s multifaceted mission.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society stands as the global leader in the fight against blood cancer. Since 1949, LLS has invested over $1.8 billion in groundbreaking research, leading to monumental advancements in treatments and, in many cases, cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma. Beyond research, LLS provides invaluable free education and support for blood cancer patients and their families, and actively mobilizes advocates to drive policy changes that ensure equitable access to quality care. The funds raised through campaigns like Visionaries of the Year are absolutely vital to these critical programs.
At Malchow Johnson Injury Lawyers, we believe in the strength of community and the importance of supporting organizations that make a profound difference. Our firm was honored to donate in support of our associate attorney, Dane Anderson, who participated as a “Visionary” in this year’s campaign. Dane, with a team of family and friends, raised funds specifically on behalf of LLS’s crucial Research pillar. We were proud to support him and the Visionaries of the Year Campaign as a whole, highlighting the incredible work of LLS and the lasting impact this organization will have on the lives of blood cancer patients and their families.
