About the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Visionaries of the Year

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, established in 1949, is the largest nonprofit organization dedicated to combating blood cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma. LLS’s mission encompasses funding groundbreaking research, providing free educational resources and support for patients, and advocating for policies that ensure access to quality, affordable care.

The Visionaries of the Year campaign is a spirited 10-week philanthropic competition where community leaders across the nation vie to raise the most funds in honor of local blood cancer survivors, known as Honored Heroes. Candidates form teams and leverage their networks to support LLS’s mission, with the top fundraiser earning the esteemed title of Visionary of the Year both locally and nationally.
