In our latest video, a lawyer from Malchow Johnson Injury Attorneys discusses a serious — and often overlooked — issue: car wrecks that happen in road construction zones.
These construction areas are supposed to follow strict safety rules outlined in a federal document called the Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). This manual sets the standards for things like warning signs, lane markings, and the overall setup of the work zone to help keep drivers safe.
Unfortunately, when contractors or agencies fail to follow these rules, accidents can happen — and they can be devastating.
If you or a loved one has been injured in a construction zone crash, our team is here to help. We understand the laws, the MUTCD requirements, and how to investigate whether negligence played a role in your accident.

I crashed because of an unmarked road construction work zone in a state I do not live in. They refused to charge the road crew with negligence and disobeyed every MUTCD and federal regulation designed to keep us safe while traveling abroad. Not in Wisconsin. They even denied me my rights according to the 14th amendment. They denied my right to free speech by the same with harassment for simply asking for clarification why a road crew was allowed to operate a skid steer on the blind side of a hill with nothing visible in advance. Mainly MUTCD signs which the police report clearly states were not in use.
How did they get away with all this? A lack of federal oversight by the federal government regarding Title23 section 106. For one. The main reason was the misuse of the word SHALL. The judge declared it does not mean mandatory. Really? This forced into a 4 day trial in a state we do not live in where we were awarded zero compensation for a life altering incident. This case needs federal involvement. Title 6? Is there help with that?
