What should you not say during a deposition?
Many times, our clients ask us, “What should I not say in the deposition?” The first rule is to tell the truth. We always want our clients to tell the truth. The second rule is to just answer the question, and don’t go into other issues. Answer the question, stop, and then let the lawyer ask other questions.
The only thing a client can say in their deposition that will negatively affect their case is that they were not hurt in the case or someone else is not at fault in the case. If they don’t answer those questions, we can handle all the other answers that they give in the case. After our clients are prepared by us, they are ready, one hundred percent, to be very successful in their depositions.
